Rediscovering home treasures with Annick, owner and curator at Enzo and Toto

Rediscovering home treasures with Annick, owner and curator at Enzo and Toto

Annick, the founder of our beloved Enzo & Toto, recently moved into a new home not far from her store. Instead of buying new furniture, she decided to breathe new life into cherished items she’s collected over 25 years. Just like her approach to choosing brands for Enzo & Toto, Annick styled her home with a blend of old and new pieces, creating a space filled with memories and unique stories.

How do you approach styling your home and choosing brands for Enzo & Toto?

"I approach both with the same ethic and aesthetics, valuing timeless pieces, quality craftsmanship, and unique finds. For my home, just like with Enzo & Toto, I believe in giving new life to well-loved items and appreciating their history and charm."

What inspired your recent home styling after moving into a new space?

"Moving into a new space gave me a blank canvas to work with, and instead of buying new furniture, I chose to repurpose items I’ve collected over the past 25 years. This approach allowed me to see these pieces in a new light, much like rediscovering an old favorite piece of clothing and styling it in a fresh way."

How did you incorporate your old belongings into your new home?

"I found new appreciation for items like my Moroccan rugs and an 18-year-old leather couch. These pieces, once overlooked, now stand out and fill my home with memories. The wear and tear on the couch, for instance, became an attractive feature, adding character and a sense of history to my living space."

Can you share a unique story behind some of your home décor pieces?

"One of my favorite pieces is a towel rack made from recycled timber barrels by a local Byron artisan. The natural curve of the timber and the craftsmanship make it unique. I originally had these custom-made for Enzo & Toto but kept a few for my home. Each piece tells a story and adds a personal touch to my décor."

How do your past experiences and memories influence your current home styling?

"My home is filled with items that carry personal history, like old books from Belgium and surf memorabilia from my early retail days in Byron Bay. These pieces, including a replica of the first surfboard in Australia, connect me to my past and remind me of my journey. They reflect my love for the Pacific islands, surfing, and the unique cultural blend of Byron Bay."

Annick's newly renovated home beautifully reflects her life's journey and passion for supporting local businesses. From artisanal towel racks to antique books, each piece tells a story and adds depth to her space. This blend of past and present continues to inspire her, ensuring both her home and Enzo & Toto remain vibrant and meaningful reflections of her dedication to timeless style and craftsmanship.

with love, Annick xx
